Balchik is a small and very romantic seaside town. It is situated in the northern part of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast - 40 km from Varna.
Balchik attracts tourists with its ancient history and unique atmosphere preserved until today. The town is located amphitheatrically over the seacoast, amidst romantic white hills. There are many small cobblestone streets with old houses which have a special spirit and give a unique poetic charm to the town.

In 1921 the Romanian Queen Maria visited Balchik for the first time and remained fascinated by the picturesque seashore, the beauty and tranquility of the town. She had one basic requirement – despite the building of the palace, the beauty and splendor of the area that has captured her heart had to be preserved.
